Gathering on Grant – Looking for more vendors. Entertainment booked. DJ themed music for each.
Need volunteers. Nikol is going to reach out to the Kiski Area Key Club for Volunteers. 3p-9p (Set
up until tear down) $22.25 for Thimble insurance if a vendor is in need of Insurance for GoG.
Vendor to email VBA (vandergriftbusinessassociation@gmail.com) a digital copy of the certificate
and also print and display a copy of the certificate. Rebecca to post on facebook about this
insurance opportunity. Two non-food vendors have signed up for all five GoG. Those two vendors
will get Oktoberfest spot for free but they will still need to provide insurance for Oktoberfest.
No Bouncy House but possible Bubble Dome.
Hope from Journey with Hope and Sia from The Sia Center are new members and in attendance
today.
Oktoberfest – Fundraiser to cover tents, bands, etc. costs. Half a cow and chest freezer. $10.
Cows have been fed Allusion’s grain. Live drawing when all the tickets sell or at Oktoberfest if all
the tickets do not sell by then. Rae Ann has an idea that Allusion sell tickets for “beer for a year”, a
4 pack/week for 1 year. This fundraiser on top of the cow tickets could also fund the scholarship.
More activities are needed. Kid Zone handed to Sia. Finances over $200 do not have to be
approved by the board. Balloon arch, and spiderman being supplied by Sia. Sia will not be at the
September GoG.
New Businesses in town: Pawsitive Pet Grooming and Simply Sisters Bakery. Simply Sisters
Bakery would like the VBA to do a Ribbon Cutting on April 1st
. Sia’s Grand Opening is on Good
Friday.
VBA CAN event report and next meeting update by Rebecca. Successful. Averaging between 12-15
people. Wednesday April 17th 6:30-8pm at Ianni’s
Education Series by Nick – Lawyer from Pittsburgh is willing to speak on Basic Law information.
Requesting the back lounge at Allusion’s backroom April 28th
.
New Business – Vandergrift Boro passed a resolution for the active transportation grant for $30,000
to repave Grant Ave.
